It can be very healthy and productive to set yourself goals. For some it can be just getting out of bed in the morning, for others it is avoiding the chocolate-chip cookies, for others it is a job/house/car/career/volunteer work in South America......
But what do we do when we don't reach that goal?
Someone I really love set a goal, and is now being so hard on themselves about not achieving it. Words like " you tried your best / there will always be more chances / etc" sound so hollow. I really am sorry my friend, but you know I will always be there to support you, and help you in any which way I can. Now stop being hard on yourself, pull up your big-girl pants and if you look hard enough you will find a silver lining.
And how come we can be so kind to our friends, offer sympathy, words of encouragement and stuff, yet when it comes down to it we all really bully ourselves?
Someone very wise said "Love your body and you will feed it right." perhaps if we loved our souls we would feed them right too?
It is so hard to look in the mirror and say "I love you" , but it is something I all think we should do.......
and yes, my goal is to stay off the chocolate chip cookies......
