working hard Mr A. ....?

The following extract is from an email from my beloved, which droppped into my inbox last night.......it follows on from him telling me how they work on their tans on the flight deck....

"Today we were on the vehicle deck cleaning all the kit and vehicles we had used in Saudi, just hosing them down and so on , and the ship has a P.A. system which crackles to life saying “there is a huge school of fish off the starboard side” , you would have loved it and I wish you were there with me to share it, we went running over because the ship only pipes things of interest if they are really worth while seeing, so off we run to the right hand side of the ship and there my love about 50 meters away was the biggest pod of dolphins I could ever imagine seeing !!! There were hundreds; really I would estimate about 300 perhaps more, all jumping and cavorting, at speed, leaping out of the water high! Some were landing on their backs, but most slipping back into the water as neat as a pin despite being so high out of the water, then streaking away. It was hard to follow just one through the water as they would get lost in the mass of bodies around them. Some zoomed ahead to ride the constant wave at the bow of the ship leaping up out and ahead then darting off to the side again. It all lasted a few minutes but it was really quite something and I will not forget it."

Now of course I am all bummed to miss out on this, and really it sounds like a slog on the ship, but don't you just love the description......."as neat as a pin" and "cavorting" - isn't Mr A. just a great writer?
